Hello, Why, with thirty years of his life left, did Sibelius stop composing? I know little of his life history and I remember reading once that Sibelius had decided that he had nothing left to say. Can you offer any insight into why he decided to stop? Did he give notice of his impending retirement or was it sudden? Did he himself offer any explanation at the time or later in life? Please help.
